Built for Rivian drivers

Track every trip.
Deduct every mile.

Shiftly reads your Rivian’s own odometer and writes your mileage log for you. Business and personal miles stay separate all year, so your record is already done when you file.

For rideshare and delivery drivers, contractors, and anyone who deducts vehicle miles at tax time.

Nothing to start

A drive is logged the moment the car shifts into gear.

Nothing on your phone

No phone GPS, no app to keep open, no battery to watch.

The real odometer

Every mile matches the number on your dash.

The problem

Mileage tracking shouldn’t be a second job

If you drive for work, those miles are money. The IRS standard mileage deduction is worth thousands of dollars a year, and capturing it reliably has always been a chore. Shiftly takes that part off your hands.

BeforeYou forget to hit “start trip.”

With Shiftly. There is nothing to start. Shiftly reads your vehicle directly, so a drive is logged the moment you shift into gear, even with your phone in your pocket.

BeforeGPS tracking drains your battery.

With Shiftly. No phone GPS, ever. Mileage comes straight from your Rivian’s own odometer and telemetry, so there is nothing running on your phone.

BeforeOdometer logs and spreadsheets are tedious and easy to fudge.

With Shiftly.Every drive is captured from the actual odometer reading at both ends, so it is accurate, it carries a timestamp, and it holds up if you are ever audited.

BeforePersonal and work miles get mixed together.

With Shiftly.Tag each drive as Business or Personal, and give a work vehicle a default so it files its own trips. Only the right miles reach your deduction.

BeforeTax time means rebuilding a whole year from memory.

With Shiftly.Weekly and monthly reports build themselves all year, so your split is already current instead of something you reconstruct every April.

BeforeOther apps want you to leave them running all day.

With Shiftly.Collection happens in the cloud from your vehicle’s data. Turn it on once, and turn it off any time you want privacy.

How it works

Connect once. Then just drive.

Link your Rivian account and Shiftly does the tracking from the cloud, even when the app is closed.

  1. 01

    Connect your Rivian

Sign in with Apple, Google, an email address, or a passkey, then link your Rivian account once. Shiftly subscribes to your vehicle’s live telemetry.

  2. 02

    Drive like normal

Trips and the individual drives inside them are detected from the car’s own gear and odometer data. There are no buttons to press.

  3. 03

    Tag business or personal

One tap per drive, split across the separate businesses you run, or a per-vehicle default that files each trip as it closes.

  4. 04

    Stay ready for tax season

Weekly and monthly reports split every vehicle’s miles into business, personal, and still to tag, so your deductible total is always current.

What you get

Everything your Rivian already knows

Mileage is the job. The rest of what the car reports comes along with it.

Automatic trip detection

Trips and the drives inside them come from real vehicle telemetry, with no manual start or stop, and a trip in progress shows its distance as you drive.

Miles from the odometer

Distance is read from your Rivian’s odometer, never estimated from GPS points.

Detection you can tune

Set how long a stop has to be before it splits a drive, and a minimum distance so parking lot moves never reach your list.

Business vs. personal

Tag each drive, and split your business miles across the separate businesses you run.

Cars that tag themselves

Give a car a default of Business or Personal, or a different one for each day of the week, and it files its own trips as they finish.

Weekly and monthly reports

Every vehicle’s miles broken into business, personal, and still to tag, week by week and month by month.

Charging log

Home AC and public DC sessions logged automatically, with energy added, charge time, the DC power curve, and the network and city where you plugged in.

Charging history from day one

Your Rivian’s own charging records are imported when you join, so the log goes back further than Shiftly does, and paid sessions carry what they actually billed.

What charging cost

Add your home electricity rate and every home charge gets a price, so reports show what the miles cost to drive.

Jump to any month

Trips and Charging list by month, with a date scrubber that goes straight to the one you want.

Route maps

See any drive drawn on the map, a whole day at once, or every route in a week or a month, and scrub a drive for battery, speed, altitude, and power.

Share a drive, a day, or a month

Turn one drive, a full day of them, or a whole month of routes into a single image you can save or post.

Battery health

Your pack’s recorded capacity charted day by day, against the week you started.

Tire pressure

Recorded on every drive and graphed across the trip, in psi, kPa, or bar.

Software updates

Your car’s update history, and a notification when Rivian offers it a version it isn’t running yet.

Every Rivian on your account

R1T, R1S, and R2 tracked side by side, each with its own trips, reports, and settings.

Miles or kilometers

US and Canadian drivers can switch distance, elevation, and efficiency units to whatever they read in.

Sign in without a password

Apple, Google, or a passkey, plus an optional Face ID lock on the app itself.

Alerts you choose

Every notification for a car lives on one page, from trips that need tagging to a charge that stopped early.

You stay in control

Turn collection or location logging off at any time, and delete your account and its data whenever you choose.

Who it is for

If you write off miles, this is for you

Rideshare and delivery

Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Instacart. If your car is how you earn, Shiftly captures every mile automatically so you never leave miles off your deduction.

Self-employed and gig work

Contractors, real estate agents, consultants, and small business owners who drive to clients, jobs, and showings and need a clean record of it.

Anyone who deducts miles

If you write off vehicle miles at tax time, Shiftly gives you an accurate record that holds up if anyone asks, without changing how you drive.

Shiftly is built for Rivian vehicles specifically, and reads your car’s own data instead of your phone’s GPS.

What’s coming next
